Kate Townsend, L.Ac., LMP, began her studies in Chinese medicine and the healing arts in the 1980's. Over the course of the last twenty-five years she has had the opportunity to study and work with a number of extraordinary healers and practitioners both in China and the U.S.
1986 Kate received her Master's of Acupuncture from the Midwest Center for the Study of Oriental Medicine, and completed an acupuncture internship at the Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kate relocated to Seattle earning an additional Master's of Acupuncture degree from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIAOM), while finishing her graduate studies in Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1997. Returning to the Chengdu College of Traditional Medicine (Sichuan, China), Kate gained extensive clinical experience with a number of highly trained specialists in her field.
In addition to maintaining a general practice in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Kate specializes in women's health, fertility concerns, IVF support, wellness care and seasonal attunement through acupuncture and qigong (a Chinese energetic movement practice that promotes self-healing). She also skillfully combines massage and energetic bodywork with acupuncture to help alleviate acute and chronic pain patterns and assist recovery from past trauma.
Kate has a deep respect for the transformational & healing power of nature and the body. She enjoys assisting others with their personal journey towards vibrant health and spiritual well-being by fostering energetic alignment through acupuncture, herbs, bodywork & movement practices.
