Geriatric and Alzheimer's Treatment
As a Washington State licensed massage therapist for over thirty years, and a member of AMTA, Judith has practiced in clinics, spa's and home offices, as well as working with elder adults in assisted living communities. With extensive knowledge in a variety of therapeutic techniques, Judith tailors her massage treatments with respect to the needs and issues of each individual.
Having worked with hundreds of clients through the years, with issues ranging from daily stress, to traumatic injury, Judith skillfully combines professional training, therapeutic touch and compassionate care.
Combining deep tissue methods and Swedish massage techniques to relieve pain, stress spasm, and discomfort, Judith's work promotes healing, relaxation and restoration. Applications of smooth heated stones, quiet music and soothing warm lotions are used to enhance this healthful and comforting experience.
Massage is usually applied directly on skin, but individuals may chose to be treated through clothing or a bed sheet, or treatment can be applied to patients while sitting in a chair or wheelchair.
Patients with Alzheimer's disease enjoy relief from fears, anger and depression through this treatment. Gently promoting peace, calm and well being, therapeutic massage is a language without words that is understood by the body, mind and spirit.
Bowen work is a dynamic muscle balancing technique, resetting tension in muscles and muscle groups by using a unique type of stretch and roll through movement which vibrates nerves on the muscle underbelly. There are precise movements with pauses between each series of moves, allowing the body to circulate and balance, stimulating energy flow. This work treats many ailments and can be reviewed by going to www.bowtech.com.
